How My Tech Journey Started | From GIAIC to Agentic AI Developer

Introduction

Everyone has a starting point, and this is mine.

When people visit my portfolio today, they see the projects I've built and the technologies I work with. But none of it happened overnight. My journey started with one opportunity that completely changed the direction of my life.

This is the story of how I entered the world of technology and became an Agentic AI developer.

Getting Selected in GIAIC

In August 2023, Governor of Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori introduced the Governor Initiative for AI and Computing (GIAIC). The goal of the program was to give students the opportunity to learn modern technologies like web development, cloud computing, blockchain, and artificial intelligence.

The response was incredible.

More than 500,000 students appeared in the entrance test, but only around 50,000 students were selected on merit.

I was grateful to be one of those selected students.

At that time, I had no idea that this opportunity would completely change my future.

Quarter 1

Everything started from the basics.

During the first quarter, I learned HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript. Before joining GIAIC, I had never built a website. Every new concept felt exciting because I could finally understand how websites actually work.

I spent countless hours practicing, making mistakes, fixing bugs, and building small projects. Every day I learned something new, and slowly I became more confident.

By the end of the first quarter, I successfully passed the exam and moved on to the next stage.

Quarter 2

The second quarter focused on modern frontend development.

This is where I started learning React and Next.js. I also explored different tools and practices used in real world development.

As part of the quarter project and hackathon, I built Resume Craft, a resume builder application.

It was my first major project, and it taught me that building products is one of the best ways to learn programming.

Quarter 3

In the third quarter, the focus shifted from frontend to backend development.

I started learning Python along with FastAPI, Flask, Django, databases, and API development.

For the first time, I understood what happens behind the scenes whenever someone opens a website or clicks a button.

During this quarter's hackathon, I built NexMart, a full stack ecommerce application.

Building a complete application from frontend to backend helped me understand how different parts of a software system work together.

Quarter 4

The fourth quarter introduced something completely new.

This time, we entered the world of Artificial Intelligence.

We learned about Large Language Models, AI agents, workflow automation, and modern AI development.

Throughout the quarter, I worked with technologies and frameworks like OpenAI Agents SDK, Google ADK, n8n, and other AI tools used to build intelligent applications.

For the hackathon project, I built Listify, a full stack task management application with AI features.

This was the point where I realized that I wanted to build not only web applications but also AI powered products.

Quarter 5

Our learning in the final quarter focused on advanced AI engineering and the latest technologies being introduced by leading AI companies.

We explored Agentic AI, modern AI frameworks, open source AI projects like OpenClaw, advanced workflows, and many other technologies shaping the future of software development.

The learning never stops, and every week brings something new to explore.

Hackathons and Projects

One of my favorite parts of GIAIC has been the hackathons organized by our mentors and teachers.

Each quarter gave us the chance to build a real project using the technologies we had learned.

So far, I have built:

Resume Craft, a resume builder application
NexMart, a full stack ecommerce website
Listify, an AI powered task management application

These projects helped me gain practical experience and showed me that the best way to improve is by building.

The Mentors Behind This Journey

None of this would have been possible without the teachers and mentors who guided me at every stage.

I learned the foundations of web development from Sir Bilal Fareed, Sir Hamza Ahmed Alvi, and Sir Hamzah Syed.

As I moved into frontend and modern frameworks, I learned from Sir Fahad Khan and Sir Asharib Ali.

For backend development, Sir Bilal Muhammad Khan helped me understand Python and full stack systems.

Sir Naeem Hussain supported my learning around Artificial Intelligence, while Sir Zia Khan and Sir Ameen Alam shared their knowledge through special sessions across the program.

Beyond the Classroom

As I continued learning, I started building my own projects outside the program.

I created websites, full stack applications, and AI based solutions to improve my skills.

Eventually, I co-founded Neofyx, where I work on modern web applications, AI products, and automation solutions.

Looking back, it's amazing to see how far one decision has taken me.

The Journey Continues

After five quarters and my GIAIC course coming to an end in August 2026, I am leaving with far more than coding skills.

I learned how to think, how to build, and how to keep learning even when things get difficult.

From HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to React and Next.js, and from Python and backend development to Agentic AI, the journey has been a constant push toward growth.

GIAIC gave me the starting point. Now it is up to me to see where I can take it.

The course is complete. The learning continues.
